This world is exactly like our own with one exception. Those things that go bump in the night? They are as real as you and me, and everyone knows about them. Vampires, werewolves, and a sprinkling of faeries and other creatures of myth come as no surprise to the majority, human population.
But the lines are clearly drawn, and in this world there is -us- and then there's -them-. Humans make up approximately 94% of the population, and they are the ones running the show. All the supernaturals- supes as they're called- have to keep a low profile or run the risk of being detained for scientific study, captured for traveling shows and carnivals, or even killed by bounty hunters for a substantial price.
Still, everyone goes on with their daily lives working, watching TV, dating, inventing, creating, dreaming. The only difference is that the night is a little bit darker, the shadows are a little bit thicker, and maybe you hesitate before explaining away the unusual as a trick of the eye.
